What is an MX record?

An MX (Mail Exchange) record tells other mail servers where to deliver email for your domain. Each record has a hostname and a priority value.

What does MX priority mean?

Senders try the lowest priority number first. Equal values share load; higher values act as backups if the primary is unreachable.

Do MX records affect deliverability?

Indirectly - they control incoming mail. For outgoing authentication and spoofing protection, check your SPF, DKIM and DMARC records too.
